Nitin Gadkari Speaks About 6 Airbags Mandatory For Cars To Avoid Crashes
The Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nithin Gadkari spoke about bringing 6 airbags mandatory in India. Addressing the media, Gadkari said, ""A draft notification has been issued on January 14, 2022, which mandates that vehicles of category M1, manufactured after October 1, 2022, shall be fitted with two side/side torso airbags, one each for the persons". He also said the Centre is making efforts to reduce crashes.

Govt Plans To Remove Toll Plazas At National Highways
The Central Government is planning to remove all the toll plazas from the National Highways. The Steps are being taken in order to reduce traffic congestion on the highways. In addition, the Central Government will install high-quality cameras on entry-exit points of plazas, to read number plates, reducing human intervention. The camera will read number plates, helping reduction of taxes, directly from the owner's bank accounts.

6 Airbags To Be Mandatory In Eight-Seater Vehicles: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari
The government will require automakers to include at least six airbags in vehicles that can accommodate up to eight passengers, according to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. According to the minister, there are over five lakh accidents nationwide each year that result in the deaths of close to 1.5 lakh persons. He also disclosed that he will shortly launch Bharat NCAP, a new vehicle evaluation program for India.

Central Govt To Expand NH To 2 Lakh Kms In Next 3 Years, Nitin Gadkari
The Union Road and Building Minister Nitin Gadkari shared the Cengtral Government's plan to expand National Highways, in India. On June 17, during the 222nd mid-term council meeting of the Indian National Congress (INC) Gadkari said, the BJP is planning to expand NH to 2 lakh kms, from current 1.47 lakh Kms, till 2025. The development will be part of PM Narendra Modi's vision to make India a 5-trillion-economy nation.

Cable-stayed Bridge Worth Rs 214 Cr Across Chambal River Constructed In Rajasthan, Says Nitin Gadkari
In Rajasthan, a cable-stayed bridge across the Chambal river on Kota bypass on NH 75 of East-West corridor has been completed. Union minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, made the announcement and credited PM Modi for "working round the clock to enhance infrastructure in our country". Reportedly, the bridge was constructed entirely with capital expenditure (CAPEX) worth Rs 214 crore.

BJP MP Firojiya Sheds 15 Kg, Demands Rs 15,000 From Gadkari
BJP MP from Ujjain, Anil Firojiya, demanded Rs 15,000 crore fund for constituency development after he won a challenge. Notably, during a public meeting, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari threw a fit challenge to Firojiya, saying he would allocate Rs 1,000 crore, for each kg shed. Accepting the challenge, in the past four-months, Firojiya lost 15 kgs. He said, "If weight-loss brings more budget allocation for Ujjain, I am ready".

'No Plant In India Unless Govt Permits To Sell & Service Imported Cars', Hints Elon Musk
Elon Musk hinted that a manufacturing plant will not be set up in India unless Indian government gives permission to sell and service imported Tesla cars in the country. Earlier, minister Nitin Gadkari had stated, Tesla is welcome to manufacture and sell Tesla cars in India, however, importing Chinese-made cars and selling locally is not a good "proposition". Musk also raised concerns about "high duties" for imported vehicles in India.
