IRCTC To Run AC Deluxe Tourist Train To Explore 5 North-Eastern States

Under the project "Dekho Apna Desh," IRCTC has planned to run an AC Deluxe Tourist Train for five North-Eastern states that are Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura, and Meghalaya. The first train will depart from Delhi's Safdarjung railway station on November 26. The 14-night and 15-day train will cost Rs 85,495 per person for 2 AC and Rs 1,02,430 for 1AC. However, only fully vaccinated individuals will be allowed.

Assam-Mizoram Border Clash: 5 Policemen Killed Just After Home Minister's Visit

In an inter-state clash after the border dispute between two states went in the way of violence, five Assam Police officials were killed. The incident occurred just after Home Minister Amit Shah met with the CMs of the North-East in Shillong to resolve the issue. Reportedly, over 60 people from a village in Assam have been injured in the clash.

Massive Forest Fire Erupts In Mizoram; Air Force Called For Rescue

The forests of Mizoram's Lunglei town are reeling through an inferno since April 25. Reportedly, the raging fire has crept in Lawngtlai district as the wildfire burned for more than 24 hours. The incident is believed to have occurred due to Jhum cultivation. Currently, the locals and governments agencies have been trying to tame the flames. Meanwhile, Indian Air Force has deployed Mi-17V5 choppers to douse off the fire.

West Bengal Allows Tourism to Popular Hill Stations; Sikkim to Allow Soon

West Bengal's hill stations Kalimpong and Darjeeling have resumed tourism activities after a 6-month shutdown. The state government has permitted hotels to resume their services while adhering to the social distancing norms and maintaining hygiene. Besides, Sikkim, one of the first states in the country to ban the entry of tourists, is also set to be reopened in October. Sikkim had banned tourists since March 16, 2020.
