England Defeats Norway 8-0 in Historic Victory, Northern Ireland Defeated By Austria: Women's Euro 2022
Beth Mead's hat-trick guided England to a record-breaking 8-0 triumph over two-time European champions Norway in second group stage game of Euro 2022 on July 11 at Falmer Stadium in East Sussex. On July 15, England will play Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland was eliminated from its first major international competition on July 11 after losing to Austria at St Mary's Stadium in Southampton. On July 16, Austria will play Norway.

Norway Drops Almost All Covid-19 Restrictions
In view of the declining COVID-19 cases, Norway has decided to remove all Covid-19 restrictions including wearing a mask and keeping 3 feet social distancing. PM Jonas Gahr Støre on February 12, made the announcement to lift most of the Covid-19 restrictions but few restrictions will remain for the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard. "The Omicron virus causes far less serious illness and we are well protected by vaccines," said PM.

Norway's Women Beach Handball Team Fined For Wearing Shorts
A fine of 1,500 euros has been charged against Norway’s women beach handball team at the European championship on July 19 for wearing shorts instead of bikini bottoms. The European Handball Federation (EHF) stated that the shorts were "not according to the Athlete Uniform Regulations defined in the IHF Beach Handball Rules". The Norway Handball Federation will pay the fines while applauded them for standing up against the sexist rule.
