A 23-year-old nurse posted at the district hospital was allegedly shot dead by a ward boy, in Madhya Pradesh. The accused, Ritesh Shakya (28) worked in the same hospital and had a one-sided crush on the nurse who was recently engaged and was going to get married. The jilted lover shot her with a pistol and she died on the spot. Notably, Ritesh has surrendered to the police.

Bhanumati Gheewal, who works as a nurse at Sir Sayajirao General Hospital in Gujarat's Vadodara, has been awarded Florence Nightingale Award. Reportedly, Gheewal did exemplary work and received the ''award for COVID-19 Gynaec duties including the delivery of newborns and working during 2019 floods that had inundated the hospital." Last year, the award was given to Dr. Shailla Cannie, Principal of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Nursing College.

An empty syringe of COVID-19 vaccine was injected to a man in Bihar’s Chhapra. The incident filmed by victim’s friend went viral all over social media. However, he taped it to capture his friend's reactions while getting vaccinated. Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed the officials to temporarily recruit around 50,000 MBBS graduates to tackle the COVID-19 situation in the state. Telangana CMO tweeted that this step would lessen the burden on the Health Department. The government released a notification that includes the recruitment of nurses, lab technicians with remuneration details in it. Applicants can apply online on or before May 22.
