Odisha CM Nominates 4 Rajya Sabha Candidates For Polls

The BJP-led Odisha Government announced Sulata Deo, Manas Ranjan Mangarj and Niranjan Bishi and renominated Sasmit Patra for the Rajya Sabha polls. The announcement came on May 29, a day after Naveen Patnaik completed its 5th-year of governance. Furthermore, Rajya Sabha polling is scheduled from 9 am to 4 pm on June 10, and the counting of votes will take place at 5 pm, on the same day.

Top Three CMs Hail From Non-BJP, Non-Congress States: Survey

The three best-performing Chief Ministers in India hail from non-BJP/non-Congress states, revealed the IANS C-Voter survey 2021. The list has been topped by BJD-ruled Odisha's CM Naveen Patnaik with 78.81% approval rate, followed by AAP-led Delhi's CM Arvind Kejriwal (77%) and Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy of the YSRCP (66.83%). Odisha Govt Orders Probe Over Letter Claiming Death Threats To CM

Odisha government has ordered an enquiry after CM Naveen Patnaik received an anonymous letter stating a threat to his life. Reportedly, received on January 5, the letter warned CM Patnaik of a planned conspiracy that involves killers equipped with AK-47, semi-automated pistol and other latest weapons. It also mentioned that the planner is from Nagpur. Following this, the CM's security has been tightened since the letter has surfaced.
