Odisha Police Arrests 2 People With Ganja Worth Rs 1.25 Lakh

In Odisha's Jharsugda station, the police arrested two people with 25 kg ganja, confirmed on June 2. The banned drugs were seized under the 'Operation Narcos', with the help of a police sniffer dog, who detected ganja in accused's luggage. After a massive search of the luggage, the ganja worth Rs 1.25 lakh was recovered. Notably, the arrested accused are from Arwal district of Bihar and Kandhamal district of Odisha.

In Odisha's Kalahandi district, a Maoist identified as Lalsu surrendered before DIG Rajesh Pandit, SP Kalahandi Savarna Vivek, and CRPF Commandant Biplab Sarka on May 2. Odisha Police Arrests Man For Illegally Selling Leopard Skin

In Odisha's Boudh district, the Special Task Force (STF) arrested one person for selling leopard skin, on November 21. The accused was arrested during a raid by STF conducted with the help of Forest officials near Ghantapada village, said police. As per sources, he was also carrying other incriminating materials. Reportedly, the STF has so far seized 21 leopard skins in the last one year.

Odisha Police Arrests 2 With Snake Venom Worth Rs 1.5 Crore

The Odisha Police arrested two persons from Sambalpur district and seized 1 kg snake venom worth Rs 1.5 crore from their possession on November 20. The accused has been identified as Kailash Chandra Sahu and Ranjan Kumar Padhi. The Deogarh Police also laid a trap based on a tip-off to arrest them with the venom, reported PTI. ''We'll send it to a laboratory for confirmation,'' said Pratyush Mohapatra, DSP.
