ISRO Launching Satellite To Study Sun Soon, Discussions At Sriharikota: AP

Aditya-L1, the first space-based Indian observatory to study the Sun, is getting ready for its launch soon, ISRO said on August 14. The satellite realised at UR Rao Satellite Centre here has arrived at the ISRO's spaceport in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, the Bengaluru-headquartered national space agency said in an update on the mission. "Mostly September first week," an ISRO official said to the media.

The death toll in the Indonesia football match stampede incident rose to 174, confirmed the concerned authority on October 2. Authorities Stop Search Operations After Recovering All 8 Bodies From Garra River in UP

A day after a tractor-trolley carrying 22 passengers plunged into the Garra river, officials in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh retrieved eight remains and called off the search on August 28. 14 individuals were rescued from the river on August 27. Hardoi District Magistrate Avinash Kumar stated, "The operation has been called off. The district administration will provide an amount of ₹ 5 lakh each to the families of the victims."

Uttarakhand To Soon Have Its Own Film City, Govt Directs Officials To Prepare Plan

Recently, the Uttarakhand Government announced to construct a film city of its own. On July 12, the Uttarakhand Government asked the concerned officials to hunt a suitable piece of land in the hill state. The Special Principal Secretary Abhinav Kumar held a meeting with the information department officials and asked them to prepare an action plan, to have fully equipped film city, for shooting in the State.

CBI Arrests Power Grid Corporation ED, 5 Tata Project Officials For Taking Bribe

The CBI registered a bribery case against Executive Director of Power Grid Corporation of India BS Jha and five officials of Tata Projects, including its Executive VP Deshraj Pathak and Assistant VP RN Singh. The five were arrested and will be produced before Panchkula court, for alleged illegal favour to the private company, after conducting raids in Ghaziabad, Noida, and Gurugram. During the searches, CBI recovered Rs 93 lakh cash.

Anti-Corruption Bureau Raids 18 Govt Officials In Karnataka; 3 Kg Sandalwood Seized

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) searched the premises of 18 government officials in Karnataka in the light of possession of disproportionate assets, on March 16. In addition, a team of around 100 ACB officials with 300 staff members turned up at 75 locations to search the residences and offices of the officials. Notably, officials found Rs 7 lakh in cash, gold, and silver inside the dustbin of an official's house.
