Ola Electric Scooter Catches Fire In Pune, Video Goes Viral

Within months of launch, an Ola S1 pro electric scooter caught fire in Pune on March 26. The video of scooter burning is being viral on social media platforms. In addition, an investigation into the matter has been launched. "We are aware of an incident in Pune that happened with one of our scooters and are investigating and will share more updates,'' read the official statement.

Ola To Provide Free Charging For 2-Wheelers Till June 2022

Ola will start the operation of its hypercharger network for electric two-wheelers across India in six to eight weeks, announced Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal on Twitter. He added that we'll install 4,000+ charging stations in the coming year. Reportedly, the service will be available ''at key BPCL pumps as well as residential complexes''. Furthermore, he revealed that the service will be free for all customers till the end of June 2022.

Ola Electric Scooter Records Rs. 1,100 Crore Sales Within 2 Days

Ola Electric Scooters managed to make sales worth over Rs. 1,100 Crores during September 15 to 16. Major portion of the sale is due to the S1 and S1 Pro models. Ola claims to have sold four scooters every second on September 15. Ola is planning the second purchase window starting November 1 during the festive season, till then new bookings are deferred after their website ran into technical difficulties.

Ola To Run World's Largest Factory Managed By Women

Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal on September 13 announced that its newly built Ola Electric factory for manufacturing electric scooters in Tamil Nadu will entirely be run by women. Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has confirmed the launch of the Ola Electric scooter in India on the occasion of Independence Day that is August 15, 2021. Meanwhile, he wrote on Twitter, ''Thank all who've reserved our scooter!'' Reportedly, the scooter carries the highest capacity of 3.6 kWh battery and one can travel up to 180-190 kilometres. Besides, the scooter comes in 10 colours, priced at around Rs 1 lakh.

Within 24 hours of its booking opened in India, nearly 1 Lakh people have registered for its upcoming scooter, said Ola on July 17. Electric Scooter Production Will Begin Soon, Says Ola CEO

As per sources, The Ola Electric scooter facility is almost ready, and the first phase of the project is almost finished. The CEO and Chairman of Ola Group Bhavish Aggarwal, posted a video of the planned facility in Tamil Nadu, which appears to be ready to manufacture the next electric scooter any day now. Once the assembly line is up and running, it is expected to be capable of manufacturing two million units per year.
