OLX To Layoff 15% Staff To Manage Economic Conditions
After Amazon, Microsoft and Google, the Dutch online market OLX also announced to laying off 15% staff. On January 31, a company spokesperson said, "OLX is reducing its global workforce by 15% which affects staff across all countries, business units and job functions. We are taking necessary measures to reduce cost structure in light of changing macroeconomic conditions." The layoff will impact approximately 15,000 staff at OLX.

4 UP Men Detained For Trying To Sell PM's Varanasi Office On OLX
Uttar Pradesh Police has detained four individuals for attempting to sell PM Narendra Modi's Varanasi office on OLX for sale. Reportedly, the ad posted by a man named Laxmikant Ojha held the interior details of the office and was listed under 'house and villa' category. Moreover, they had priced the property Rs 7.5 crore. Police claimed that further probe is underway and the ad was removed.

Demand For Used Smartphones Hike Due to Online Classes
The demand for used smartphones is facing a hike in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the reopening of any educational institution is uncertain till December 2020, the students are taking classes online through mobile, tablets and computers. This has resulted in a 109% growth in demand for smartphones on OLX in July. Experts have said that this demand will decline once schools reopen.
