7 Indian Sailors Captured By Houthi Rebels In Red Sea Brought Back To India

Indian sailors who were taken captive by Houthi rebels in Yemen, have been rescued and brought back to India. Seven Indians among 14, foreigners were captured when Houthi rebels seized the UAE-flagged merchant vessal Rwabee in the Red Sea, on January 2. According to the External Affairs ministry, the rescue was possible with the help of Oman. Indian sailors after being brought back, expressed their gratitude towards Indian government.

Oman Adds 'COVAXIN' To Its Approved List Of COVID-19 Vaccines

Oman On October 27 has decided to include "COVAXIN" on their country's approved list of Covid-19 vaccines. The Indian Embassy in Muscat said, "All passengers from India who have received two doses of Covaxin at least 14 days before estimated arrival date, will now be able to travel to Oman without the requirement of quarantine." However, COVID-19 protocols, such as the pre-arrival RT-PCR test will be mandatory.

Oman To Open Travel Sevices For Vaccinated People, Including India

According to the Civil Aviation Authority, Oman decided to open its travel services from September 1 for the citizens of over 20 countries, including India who has received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. However, people have to wait for 14 days after receiving the vaccines to travel and also need to carry negative RT-PCR certificates to get exemption from quarantine. Oman also lifted the night curfew in the country.

ICC Unveils The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 Schedule

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has finally on August 17 confirmed that the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will start on October 17 and will end on November 14. The World Cup is divided between Round 1 and Super12. The main tournament Super12 among 16 teams will be played between October 23 to November 14 in the UAE and Oman. Notably, India and Pakistan's match will be on October 24.
