China Pause Passport Renewals To Prevent Spread Of Covid-19

Observe COVID-19 SOPs in J&K Hospitals:DHSK

Kashmir Health Services Director has asked all the concerned officers to implement COVID-19 SOPs properly in all healthcare institutions. The order was issued in view of the recent COVID-19 surge in the country & detection of some Omicron cases in J&K. As per the order, they will ensure that no patient/attendant is allowed to enter hospital without RT-PCR testing, & masks are put on face by them properly.

20 Healthcare Workers Of LNJP Hospital Test COVID-19 Positive

At least 20 healthcare workers of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) government hospital, Delhi tested COVID-19 positive, on January 6. The Medical Director of LNJP Dr. Suresh Kumar said that 20 patients include 11 doctors, eight nurses, and one sanitation worker. He expressed concern and said, "If our workforce gets affected then it may affect our fight against COVID-19". Notably, the hospital hired 25% additional staff for COVID-19 patients.

UAE Imposes Travel Ban On Unvaccinated Citizens From Jan 10

The United Aram Emirates (UAE) imposed travel ban on unvaccinated people. The UAE government, on January 1, tweeted, "Ban on Travel on UAE Citizens unvaccinated with #Covid-19Vaccine, starting Jan 10, 2022, with a requirement to obtain the booster dose for the fully vaccinated". However, medically unstable and exempted people will not be included in the aforementioned order.

Mumbai Police Imposes Section 144 Till Jan 15: Omicron Threat

Amid the rising cases of Omicron, the Mumbai police imposed section 144 of the CrPC in the city, on December 31. The order issued by DCP (Operations) S Chaitanya came into effect from 1 pm and will continue till January 15. It restricts people from visiting public places such as beaches, open grounds, sea faces, promenades, gardens, and parks between 5 pm and 5 am every day.

UK-Kolkata Flights To Be Suspended from Jan 3: Omicron Threat

The West Bengal Government has decided to suspend flight services between the United Kingdom (UK) and Kolkata. The flights will be suspended temporarily from January 3, keeping in view the prevailing situation, due to the rising number of Omicron cases. Reports said flights from at-risk countries will also be not allowed into the state, soon.
