Uttar Pradesh's CM Yogi Adityanath on October 23 announced that his government has decided to distribute ''tablets and laptops'' among the youth by the end of November. Reportedly, the initiative will help the students to complete their online courses at ease. He announced the development while laying the foundation stone of a government medical college in Sultanpur. He also attacked the opposition for 'playing with the people's faith'.

Underprivileged students had no access to education during the pandemic owing to the closure of schools. However, Hope, a community school in Delhi came as a rescue as they provided the opportunity of the online classroom and mid-day meals. The initiative has been taken by Tejas Asia NGO, where “Hope buses” are provided across Delhi, inside which children study for two hours on subjects like maths and language skills.

Tulsi Kumari, an 11-year-old, mango vendor from Jharkhand's Jamshedpur sold 12 mangoes and purchased a smartphone for her online classes. Karnataka Public Instruction department has decided to not conduct written exams for students from class 1-9. While students from class 1-5 will be promoted directly to the next class, oral examinations will be conducted for the students from grades 6-9 along with an assignment-based approach. The decision was made after analysing the effect of learning and accessibility of online classes to several students citing the pandemic.

The Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), 2020 has revealed that over 60% of enrolled student’s family have at least one smartphone to take online classes during the pandemic. Also, children in lower classes have received more family support than higher ones.
