Tamil Nadu Govt To Provide High Speed Internet To All 12,535 Village Panchayats At 1 Gbps Bandwidth

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin initiated works to provide high speed internet connectivity to all the 12,535 village panchayats in the state. On June 9, he inaugurated the laying of optical fibre cables. Reportedly, the project is worth Rs 1,627.8 crore, and will be implemented by Tamil Nadu Fibrenet Corporation (TANFINET). The project aims at providing 1 Gbps bandwidth connectivity to the village panchayats.

Govt Nods To Underwater Optic Fibre Scheme To Deliver E-Gov Services

The Cabinet has approved to lay underwater optical fibre network between Kochi and Lakshadweep Islands to improve the doorstep delivery of e-Governance services. A government release has stated that the project would also help in developing fisheries, coconut-based industries and tourism.
