No Action Against Editors Guild Of India In Manipur Violence FIR: SC

The Supreme Court on September 11, extended till September 15 its order asking the Manipur Police not to take any coercive steps against four members of the Editors Guild of India (EGI) in connection with two FIRs lodged against them for alleged offences, including promoting enmity between two communities. A bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said the operation has been extended until the next hearing on September 15.

No Need Of Modern Sound System To Celebrate Dandiya, Garba: Bombay HC

Amid festive season of Navratri, the Bombay HC reviewed a petition and noted that the religious festival of Navratri is about worshipping the Goddess "Shakti," noisy environment is not needed to celebrate. In response to orders of banning of noisy music equipment, the Court observed no need to use modern sound systems like DJs, loudspeakers, etc. for performing Garba and Dandiya. The bench asked to follow traditional way to celebrate.

Punjab HC Orders No Coercive Action Against BJP's Tajinder Bagga

In relief to the BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, the Punjab & Haryana HC, Justice Anoop Chitkara issued orders,"  no coercive action be taken against Bagga till the next hearing, on May 10". Notably, after failing to arrest Bagga from Delhi, the Punjab Police moved a Mohali Court seeking, a non-bailable warrant against Bagga. However, he moved the Punjab & Haryana HC, which issued an order on May 7.
