Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) President Arvind Kejriwal has threatened to walk out of the united opposition if the Indian National Congress doesn't support the AAP Ordinance. On June 22, during the Patna meeting of opposition parties, Kejriwal said, "I hope that the Congress will clearly state its position, as the other political parties present in the meeting will inquire about it." Notably, Delhi Ordinance will be the first topic discussed.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sent a third message to Congress, seeking support against the Centre's proposed law to restore Lieutenant Governor's control over transfer and postings of bureaucrats in the national capital. The Congress has so far been on the fence of the Centre's executive order last month which nullified a Supreme Court order that upheld the elected government's control over bureaucrats.

The BJP Government passed an ordinance to reverse the Supreme Court ruling in the Delhi Government petition, seeking administration interference.
