Legendary Hollywood actor Sidney Poitier passed away at the age of 94, according to the media reports on January 8. Poitier was the first person to win the prestigious Oscar award. He also won the Academy Award for best actor for Lilies of the Field in 1963, reported UNI. On his death, several leaders such as US President Joe Biden and former US President Barack Obama expressed their condolences.
