India COVID-19 Updates: Reports 44,877 New Cases With 684 Deaths

India, on February 13 reported 44,877 fresh COVID-19 cases, 11% lower than February 12. Besides new cases, the nation registered 1,17,591 recovered and 684 death COVID-19 cases. With this, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) updated 5,37,045 (1.26%) active cases, 5,08,665 (1.19%) death cases and 4,15,85,711 recovered cases (97.55%). Meanwhile, a total of 172.81 crore vaccine doses have been administered to people in India.

Britain To Test T Cell Response Of COVID Vaccines For Cross Comparison

With an intent to determine the T cell responses of various Coronavirus vaccines, the UK announced that it has collaborated with an Oxford-based company. Reportedly, UK plans to test the response with six vaccines including AstraZeneca and Pfizer. The T cell immunity provides a long-term immunity as compared to antibodies. According to chair of UK Vaccines Task Force, this also provides a means for cross-comparison of vaccines.
