Uttar Pradesh: Woman Dies After Cops Snatch Oxygen Cylinder From Her Son

A viral video showcasing UP policemen allegedly snatching an oxygen cylinder from a 17-year-old boy, utilizing it to treat his ailing mother at a private COVID-19 facility. Reportedly, the police gave cylinder to a VIP after which the teenager's mother died due of lack of oxygen. The video displays boy kneeling down & pleading in front of the policemen.However, ADG Rajiv Krishna ensured to take strict action against the guilty.

Delhi Police Books 2 For Selling Fire Extinguishers As Oxygen Cylinders

The Delhi Police have arrested two people in Dwarka for allegedly selling fire extinguishers as oxygen cylinders. Reportedly, the accused Ashutosh Chauhan and Ayush sold two extinguishers for Rs 10,000 each to patients who were in critical need of oxygen. When one of the patients passed away, his relatives noticed the fraud and demanded a refund and on denial by the accused, a police complaint was lodged.

Former cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir on April 25 announced to distribute anti-viral drug Fabiflu and oxygen cylinders to COVID patients. To be distributed through Gautam Gambhir Foundation across Delhi, Gambhir earlier distributed the aforementioned in his East Delhi constituency. Reportedly, people will have to offer doctor's prescription and Aadhar card to get the resources from his office in Pusa Road and Jagriti Enclave.

Govt Nixes All Charges On Ships Carrying Oxygen, Related Cargo At Major Ports

The Ports, Shipping, and Waterways ministry in its April 25 order stated to waive off all charges on vessels carrying oxygen for the next three months. The Port Chairpersons will closely monitor the logistics to ensure fast delivery of oxygen-related cargo and hassle-free services to handle the crisis at these unprecedented times. However, the vessels carrying other containers with oxygen will be charged on a pro-rata basis.

Centre Lifts Custom Duty On Oxygen, Equipment, COVID Vaccine For 3 Months

The Centre on April 24 decided to withdraw basic custom duty on imports of oxygen and related equipment for three months. The high-level meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi also exempted duty on COVID vaccine. Exempting health cess on oxygen and equipments, PM asked the departments to work in synergy to increase availability of oxygen and medical supplies. Reportedly, Remdesivir and its API was also exempted by Union recently.

Delhi: Shaheen Bagh Welding Shops Provide Free Oxygen Cylinders

Doing their bit to help, many welding shops in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh are working as free oxygen cylinder distributors and refilling centres. Reportedly, the shop owners are refilling the cylinders for free or a minimum charge of Rs 130 for a 15-litre cylinder, which is costing as much as Rs 20,000 at other places. Moreover, the shops are getting numerous calls and they are doing it for nothing in return.

Web Search For 'Remdesivir', 'RC-PTR Test', 'Oxygen Cylinder' Increases

A recent data collected by Google and various analytics sites have suggested that internet searches for COVID-related terms such as Remdesivir injections, RT-PCR tests, oxygen cylinders, and hospital beds have increased. Reportedly, the term “remdesivir near me” was searched most in Maharashtra while Delhi searched “oxygen cylinder near me” the most. Moreover, the search volume of these words soared in the week ending April 17.

Maha: Cops Face Inquiry For Forcibly Arranging Oxygen To Hospital
