Australia To Send Immediate Support Package To India For COVID Crisis

The Australian Health Minister Greg Hunt on April 26 said that Australia will send oxygen, PPE and ventilators to India as part of an immediate support package. Moreover, to discuss the further assistance to India, the National Security Committee of Cabinet will meet on April 27. Meanwhile, looking for minimising the risk of infection spread, Australia might impose a temporary flight ban from India.

Govt Allocates Funds To Create 551 Oxygen Plants Through PM Cares

The Centre on April 25 allocated funds from PM Cares Fund to establish 551 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Generation plants in country. To be installed at identified district-level government hospitals across the country, PM Narendra Modi has directed the officials to establish the plants at earliest to overcome the oxygen crisis. The PM cares had earlier this year allocated Rs 201.58 crore to install 162 oxygen plants.

Delhi: Shaheen Bagh Welding Shops Provide Free Oxygen Cylinders

Doing their bit to help, many welding shops in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh are working as free oxygen cylinder distributors and refilling centres. Reportedly, the shop owners are refilling the cylinders for free or a minimum charge of Rs 130 for a 15-litre cylinder, which is costing as much as Rs 20,000 at other places. Moreover, the shops are getting numerous calls and they are doing it for nothing in return.

Singhu Border Farmers Open One-Side Of Highway For Oxygen, Ambulances

SC Asks Centre To Present "National Plan" On Oxygen, Vaccine Supply

Reliance Extends Help To Indore, To Provide 100 Tonnes Oxygen Daily

Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries on April 17 extended its help to Madhya Pradesh's worst-hit city Indore by providing 60 tonnes of medical oxygen. The company sent the oxygen tankers from its Gujarat's Jamnagar plant, and has assured of supplying 100 tonnes of oxygen to Indore every day. Thanking RIL, BJP Indore chief Tulsi Silavat stated it "will be extremely useful for the city." Earlier, Reliance had sent oxygen to Maharashtra.

Indian Railway Formulates Policy To Transport Liquid Oxygen In Tankers

The Indian Railways, on April 16, released a policy permitting the transportation of liquid oxygen in cryogenic tankers.  As per the policy, the oxygen-carrying cryogenic tankers will be transported by the railways as a roll-on roll paid service and the empty flow of tankers will also be charged. Reportedly, the demand was initiated by the Maharashtra government as it is one of the worst-hit states by the Covid-19.
