OYO Announces 500 Additional Hotels For ODI World Cup
Global hospitality major OYO on July 7, said that it will add 500 new hotels across several host cities of the upcoming Men’s Cricket World Cup. These will be added over the next three months to meet the anticipated increase in booking demand. The announcement came as a major relief to boost hospitality and meet demands of the fans, arriving in Indian cities to witness the ODI World Cup.

OYO Appoints Paralympian Deepa Malik As Independent Director
Deepa Malik, an Indian-athlete who won a silver medal at the 2016 Paralympic-Games, has been named as an independent-director on the board-of-directors of Oravel-Stays Ltd (OYO) on October 13. In addition to chairman Ritesh Agarwal, Malik joins the board of OYO, which has three other independent members and one nominated director. Over the last couple of years, OYO has worked to make its company and board of directors more inclusive.

OYO Opposes Zostel Threats To Restrict OYO's IPO Activities
In retaliation to a notice from Zostel threatening to limit its IPO preparation efforts, OYO published an open letter on its blog. OYO is allegedly planning a public sale of shares "without complying with the provisions of the award and allotment to the shareholders; the ownership to which they are entitled," as per Zostel. In response, Oyo claims that it is an attempt to circumvent the Delhi High Court's processes.

OYO Has Filed Bankruptcy Is Absolutely Untrue And Inaccurate, Clarifies CEO Ritesh Agarwal
OYO's CEO Ritesh Agarwal clarifying about the fake rumours around OYO filing for bankruptcy ‘is absolutely untrue and inaccurate.’ A fake PDF and text message is being circulated on social media saying OYO has filed for bankruptcy. However, the issue was entirely different where a claimant was seeking Rs 16 lakhs from OYO, which was already paid. For the same, OYO has appealed to NCLAT challenging the order.

Two Indians Abducted In Nigeria's Oyo State; Police Alarm Foreigners
The Nigerian police have alerted the non-natives in the country after two Indian workers were kidnapped on gunpoint on December 9. The two Indians were kidnapped from Nigeria’s Ibadan City of Oyo state where they worked in a pharmaceutical firm.
