Malayalam Poet & Women Activist Sugathakumari Passes Away Aged 86
Revered Malayalam poet and activist Sugathakumari had breathed her last on December 23. Reportedly, the 86-year-old Padma Shree awardee had contracted the COVID-19 virus and was hospitalized at Thiruvananthapuram general hospital. Padma Shree Awardee Govindacharya Passes Away at 85 In Karnataka
Prominent Sanskirt Scholar and Padma Shree awardee Vidyavachaspati Bannanje Govindacharya passed away on December 13. He breathed his last at the age of 85 at his residence in Karnataka's Udupi. Govindacharya has authored around 150 books and has also translated several books from Sanskrit to Kannada. He was a propagator of "Madhva" ideology and was the representative for the World Conference on Religion and Peace, 1979, at the USA.
