In the 87th episode of Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi appreciated 126-year-old Baba Sivanand and said, "The life of Baba Sivananda is an inspiration for all of us. He has a passion for Yoga and leads a very healthy lifestyle." Modi said, dressed in white kurta & dhoti, Baba is picture of 'simplicity & grace. Baba known for his healthy lifestyle and yoga received Padma Shri award on March 21.

Padma Shri Awardee Nanda Prusty Dies At 98, PM Pays Condolences
PM Narendra Modi, on December 7 paid respect to a 98-year-old Padma Shri awardee Nanda Kishore Prusty, upon hearing his demise. "Pained by the demise of Nanda Prusty," tweeted PM Modi. He further paid condolences, Nanda Sir would be remembered for generations for his efforts to spread education in Odisha. Assam Singer Dulal Manki Receives Padma Shri Award
President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the Padma Shri award to Assamese singer Dulal Manki on November 9 at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Reportedly, a total of 10 Padama Bhushan and 102 Padma Shri Awards were planned for this year. The 102 awardees include 29 women, 16 posthumous awardees, and one transgender. The Padma Awards are announced every year on January 24, a day before Republic Day.
