The Indian Air Force was closely monitoring a Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777 jetliner which crossed into the Indian airspace last week. The inspection started after it failed to land at Lahore airport because of heavy rain in the region. The Pakistani International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-248, had taken off from Muscat for Lahore, but it had to abort its landing because of poor weather conditions.
Pakistan's flight services ban imposed by the European Union, is likely to be lifted soon. After ICAO's recent safety audit which was successfully completed on December 10, they are now planning to lift the ban, informed Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority Director Khaqan Murtaza on December 22. However, the Pakistan International Airlines services will resume after a final approval from the ICAO, which is awaited.
