Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan Remanded For 8 Days Custody

Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan has been remanded eight-days custody with the Islamabad Police, in corruption charges. Notably, a day after the arrest, the PTI Chief was produced before the Islamabad special court, where he was remanded. After the arrest, Imran Khan appeared before the court and said, how he have been tortured and wasn't even allowed to use washroom. Meanwhile, agitated with the arrest, PTI leaders called for protest.

Pakistan Might Face Internet Shut Down Amid Power Outages

Pakistan is likely to face an internet shutdown amid the constant power outages in Pakistan. Pak Punjab CM Orders Probe Into Assembly Chaos

Chaos broke out in the Pakistan Punjab Assembly, following which Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leaders attacked the Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari upon his arrival. Later, the newly elected CM of Pakistan's Punjab, Hamza Shahbaz, announced an inquiry into the brawl that had ensued in the assembly. He also warned that action would be taken against those responsible for the ruckus in the Assembly.

Shehbaz Sharif Is New Pakistan PM With Majority 174 Votes

In Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif has been elected as the new Pakistan PM. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president was elected unopposed by Parliament on April 11. As per PTI, Shehbaz (70) will be the 23rd PM of Pakistan, with a majority vote of 174 MLAs in the parliament. Notably, on Sunday after the no-trust-vote, Imran Khan was ousted out as the PM of Pakistan, following which Shehbaz has been elected.

Pakistan PM Permits Temple Destruction; UP Court To hear Petitioner

Taking into cognizance a petition filed against Pakistan PM Imran Khan in connection with the temple destruction, UP's Pratapgarh court said it will hear the matter on August 26. The petitioner-lawyer Gyan Prakash Shukla said Khan had permitted the destruction of Lord Ganesha's temple in Pakistan. Shukla alleged that khan did so to ''disturb the communal harmony of India'' and to launch a ''cold war'' against India.

PM Imran Khan To Filmmakers; Only Originality Sells, Don't Copy Bollywood

Advising the Pakistani filmmakers, PM Imran Khan asked them to create original content, and not to copy other industries such as Hollywood and Bollywood. While speaking at the short film festival in Islamabad, Khan said, ''The most important thing I want to say to young filmmakers, only originality sells, the copy has no value''. According to Khan, the Pakistani film industry was initially influenced by Bollywood.
