Minor Girl With Special Needs Found Pregnant, Case Registered
In Palghar, a 15-year-old minor girl with special needs was found pregnant in Maharashtra region. As per sources, the girl with intellectual disabilities, was allegedly raped and assaulted, following which a case has been registered and an investigation started. Police have registered a case under Indian Penal Code section 376 (rape) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against an unidentified person

Cyrus Mistry, Former Tata Sons Chairman Passes Away In Road Accident
Cyrus Mistry, 54-year-old, former Chairman of Tata Sons, passed away in a tragic accident, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. On September 4, Cyrus' car rammed into a divider in Palghar region near Surya River Charoti Bridge. He was returning from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in his Marcedes, when the tragic incident was reported. Furthermore, besides Cyrus, one more person in the car died, whereas two others received serious injuries.

Bombay HC Expresses Concern Over Rising Tribal Deaths Amid No Access To Hospitals
Concerned about the rising number of deaths in Palghar, the Bombay High Court took a note and expressed concern. On August 18, the HC bench said, “We are really concerned about why the deaths are not coming down." The statement was made after a report came about a tribal woman losing her twins on way to a hospital for delivery, as there was no access to hospital and doctors.

703 Kg Narcotics Worth Rs 1,400 Crore Seized In Palghar, 5 Peddlers Arrested: Maharashtra
In Maharashtra's Palghar, police arrested five drug peddlers and seized 703 Kg of MD drugs in Nalasopara town. Anti-Narcotics cell DCP Datta Nalawade tweeted about the in incident. He further stated that the seized consignment of drugs are worth at least Rs 1,400 crore in the narcotics drug market. Reportedly, the seizure is one of the largest in recent times.

Railway Section Engineer Commit Suicide After Being Depressed For Years: Maharashtra
In Palghar district of Maharashtra, Nitesh Chourasia (36), a section engineer with the railways allegedly committed suicide. On June 19, a police official confirmed the news and said, he committed suicide at his residence in Vartak Nagar, around 11;30 pm. Chourasia was said to be depressed for the past six-seven years and shot himself dead. However, he didn't blame anyone for the incident and is survived by wife and son.

Cop Booked For Alleged Rape & Cheating Of Female Cop In Palghar: Maharashtra
A police constable has been booked for allegedly raping and cheating a woman colleague in Maharashtra, on May 25. The accused the woman constable involved in the case are both posted in Palghar district. According to the complaint, the accused raped the woman constable on multiple occasions under the pretext of marrying her. A case been registered under IPC Section 374 (Rape) and Section 420 (Cheating).

Teenager Murdered In Hotel Room, Accused Commit Suicide: Maharashtra
In Palghar district, a 17-year-old was found dead in a hotel room. The victim checked into the hotel with a 21-year-old Abhishek Shah, who allegedly murdered her. As per the investigation, Shah allegedly blackmailed the victim for money and took her to a hotel in Arnala. He killed the girl and later committed suicide by jumping in front of a train in Borivali. The Maharashtra police launched an investigation.

Leopard Rescued By Forest Dept In Palghar District: Maharashtra
Forest department in collaboration with Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), rescued a leopard which strayed into a village adjoining Palghar district, on March 30. Reportedly, the leopard was spotted by the villagers four days ago, after which, the police were alerted. The big cat reportedly didn't kill any person. However, it did kill four dogs. Following the rescue, the leopard was treated for its wounds, reported PTI.

1 Arrested For Allegedly Raping Mentally Challenged Woman: Maharashtra
In Maharashtra's Palghar district, Manor police on February 13, has arrested a 48-year-old man for allegedly raping a mentally challenged woman. The accused has been raping woman for the past five-months. The accused is a resident of Palgarh district of Dapchari Sutar Pada in the area Vikramgarh. The family registered a case to the nearest police station after they got to know about the woman's pregnancy.

3 Held For Gang-Raping A Orphan Girl For Months: Maharashtra
