Leopard Rescued By Forest Dept In Palghar District: Maharashtra

Forest department in collaboration with Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), rescued a leopard which strayed into a village adjoining Palghar district, on March 30. Reportedly, the leopard was spotted by the villagers four days ago, after which, the police were alerted. The big cat reportedly didn't kill any person. However, it did kill four dogs. Following the rescue, the leopard was treated for its wounds, reported PTI.

1 Arrested For Allegedly Raping Mentally Challenged Woman: Maharashtra

In Maharashtra's Palghar district, Manor police on February 13, has arrested a 48-year-old man for allegedly raping a mentally challenged woman. The accused has been raping woman for the past five-months. The accused is a resident of Palgarh district of Dapchari Sutar Pada in the area Vikramgarh. The family registered a case to the nearest police station after they got to know about the woman's pregnancy.

3 Held For Gang-Raping A Orphan Girl For Months: Maharashtra

Ex Employee Kills Manager In An Attempt To Loot Bank

A former bank manager in Maharashtra's Palghar district stabs the current manager Yogita Vartak and injured the cashier Shweta Devrukh on July 29 in a narrow attempt to loot the bank. Reportedly, at the time of the attempt to a robbery around 7:30 pm, only two employees were present. Meanwhile, Devrukh got injured and Vartak succumbed to injuries. Police have arrested the accused and an investigation is ongoing.

Lightning Kills Boy, Leaves 3 Injured: Maharashtra

A 15-year-old boy was killed and three other minors were injured after lightning struck them when they climbed a tree in search of a mobile phone network in Maharashtra's Palghar district, on June 29. According to Rahul Sargang (revenue officer), the four boys were stuck under a heavy rainfall while grazing cattle, meanwhile, they climbed a tree and that lightning hit them. The injured ones are undergoing treatment in a rural hospital.

Maharastra Woman Prevents ATM Robbery; Locks Shutter From Outside

Maharastra police has arrested Salim Mansoori, a resident of Mumbai's Borivali for an attempt to rob Rs 10 Lakhs from an ATM kiosk in Palghar's Vasai area. Reportedly, a 45-year-old woman locked the ATM's Shutter from outside after she heard strange noise from the kiosk at around 2:30 AM. The woman has been identified as Sukanya Pawar, she was on her way to relative's house to offer condolences on somebody's death in the family.

Bail Granted For 89 Accused In Palghar Mob Lynching Case

Arrested for killing two Sadhus and a driver in the Palghar mob lynching case, 89 people were granted bail by a special court in Maharashtra's Thane. The lawyers of the accused stated that the applicants were arrested on suspicion and they were innocent. Mistaken as child-lifters, two Sadhus and a driver were killed by a mob on April 16, 2020. The next hearing has been scheduled for February 15.

MAHA: Palghar Police Nabs Three People For Absconding With Rs 4.25 Crore

Maharashtra's Palghar police have arrested three people including a cash van driver for absconding with Rs 4.25 crore. The accused has been identified as Rohit Aaru, Akshay Prabhakar Mohtay and Chandrakant Gulab Gaikwad. However, the DCP Sanjay Patil of Vasai Vihar said that an amount of Rs 2.33 Crore was recovered from the van which was left unclaimed, while Rs 1.88 Crore was retrieved after the arrest.
