Maharashtra: Green Activists File Complaint against Illegal Mangrove Cutting
On August 26, green activists have raised complaints against the Maharashtra government for the illegal chopping of mangroves in the Panje wetlands of Uran. The Bombay High Court has appointed a Mangrove Protection Panel to look into the matter in Navi Mumbai's eco-friendly region. Earlier, social activists had raised complaints when a 270 m wall was proposed to be built on the Panje river which would block tidal waters.
