Senegal Football Hero Papa Bouba Diop Passes Away At 42
Former Senegal midfielder Papa Bouba Diop passed away at 42 on November 29. Mourning the death of the footballer, FIFA tweeted, "Once a World Cup hero, always a World Cup hero." Diop emerged as a hero when Senegal defeated the defending champion France in 2002 FIFA World Cup. Representing Senegal for over 60 matches, the 6-foot-5 Diop was nicknamed "Wardrobe" for his commanding game. Diop also appeared for several football clubs.
