Union Railway Ministry has renamed the Howrah-Kalka Mail as Netaji Express to commemorate 'Parakram Diwas' or the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on January 23. The 130-year-old train is historically relevant considering how Bose used it to escape British imprisonment in 1941. Netaji's Birthday To Be Observed As 'Parakram Diwas': Centre
To commemorate the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose, the Centre has announced January 23 would be recognized as 'Parakram Diwas'.
