In a shocking incident, a youth killed his father and step mother. A 24-year-old student from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) was arrested in the Quarsi locality of Zakir Nagar after reportedly stabbing his parents to death following an argument. The incident was disclosed by the authorities on March 31, confirmed police, who registered a case and arrested  Mohammad Ghulamuddi, who stabbed his father 47 times in 38 seconds.

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja welcomed their first child, on August 20. A lesbian couple that had been separated by their parents, who were opposed to the relationship were reunited by Kerala High Court on May 31. The court originally requested that the partner be brought before it, and when she did, she stated that she wished to live with the petitioner. The judge accepted their request since both women were grownups who wished to live together.  

To punish the parents for their children's ''bad behaviour'', the parliament of China is likely to pass the "Family Education Promotion Law" after the discussion this week. Reportedly, the bill makes the parents liable to teach children to ''love the party, nation, people, socialism''. Furthermore, it demands parents to develop the sense in Children to ''respect the elderly and care for the young'' and help them to learn exercise.
