Lok Sabha Passes Bill To Curb Film Piracy: Monsoon Parliament Session

During the ongoing Monsoon Parliament Session, the Lok Sabha passed a bill to curb the piracy of films in India. On July 31, the Lok Sabha passed a Bill to curb the menace of film piracy, revamp age-based certification given by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as well as uniformity in the categorisation of films and content across platforms. The Cinematograph (Amendment ) Bill 2023 was released.

KCR Issues Warning To Central Govt Over Delhi Ordinance

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately withdraw the ordinance issued by the Centre on control of services in Delhi, as his counterparts from Delhi and Punjab, Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, met him over the issue here.  The statements were made by K Chandrashekar Rao made the demand during a joint press conference with Kejriwal and Mann.

Rs 75 Coin To Be Launched On May 28, Marking Parliament Inauguration

To commemorate the launch of the new parliament building, the Union Government announced to launch a Rs 75 coin. The Union Finance Ministry issued a notification and confirmed the launch of the coin, which will be of 35 gm, 44 mm in diameter. The front side of the coin will feature the Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar with ‘Satyamev Jayate’ written. SC To Hear PIL Filed Against Parliament Inauguration

The Supreme Court is likely to hear a public interest litigation (PIL) filed against the inauguration of the new parliament building, by PM Narendra Modi. Notably, there has been a ruckus with the opposition, who called for a "boycott parliament" inauguration by PM Modi, and demanding the inauguration by President Droupadi Murmu. As of now, 21 opposition parties, including Congress, AAP and DMK announced to skip the event.
