Immersion Corp Alleges Meta Created Its VR Headset By Infringing On Its Patents
According to a complaint by a small company, Meta Platforms Inc. constructed its industry-leading virtual reality headset by infringing on the patents of Immersion Corp. Immersion claimed that the Meta Quest 2, which leads the market, infringes on six haptic technology patents in a case filed on May 26. Immersion is requesting a court order prohibiting Meta from using the infringing technology, as well as unspecified monetary damages.

Dr John Abraham Invents Biodiesel From 'Chicken Oil', Gets Patent
John Abraham, a veterinary doctor-cum-inventor based in Kerala, won the patent for inventing biodiesel from ''rendered chicken oil'' on July 7. Abraham said he waited around seven and a half years for the patent, while his mentor Professor Ramesh Saravana Kumar died waiting for the moment. Although biodiesel produces a mileage of around 38 km per litre, it reduces the ''pollution level by half''.

Bihar Student Develops COVID Alert Device; Production To Begin Soon
A unique device which detects temperature and alerts social distancing has been designed by two brothers in Bihar, named Arpit Kumar and Abhijeet Kumar. Reportedly, the device alerts when someone comes near by with high temperature or fails to maintain social distancing. Interestingly, the device is created by a student of class X & XII. Moreover, the commercial production of the badge size device is likely to begin soon.

Indian Patents Filed Overseas Are More Quick, Successful: Study
A data analysis revealed that four of every 10 patents filed by Indians abroad get a nod while the same for domestic filing is one of 10. Himachal's Shoolini University Ranks 3rd In the Country In Patents' Filing
Himachal’s Shoolini University has bagged third rank in the country in patents' filing. Notably, of the 193 patents filed from Himachal Pradesh last year, 185 were from Shoolini, a 10-year-old private-owned Biotech University. In the study by the Office of Intellectual Property, the first position was secured by the IITs. However, all 23 IITs were considered as one group. Shoolini has filed over 400 patents since its commencement in 2009.
