Punjab: Forces Doused Fire In School Premises Averting Major Mishap
In Punjab's Pathankot region, a massive fire incident was averted after police took action immediately. In the early hours the fire broke out near the Indian Heritage School premises, but a major mishap was averted after the fire extinguishers doused the fire. "Fast moving forest fire around school premises doused with strenous effort, saving precious lives & valuable property," said PRO Defence Jammu.

Missing Posters Of BJP MP Sunny Deol Pasted On Walls, Railways, Roads Of Pathankot
A protesting local, pasted 'missing' posters of BJP MP Sunny Deol on walls of houses, railway stations, and vehicles in Punjab's Pathankot. On October 6, he addressed the media and said, "After becoming MP, he never visited Gurdaspur. He calls himself the son of Punjab but he hasn't brought any industrial development, not allocated MP funds or brought any central govt scheme here." The protestor demanded Deol's resignation too.

Indian Army's Tiger Division Troops Avert Fire Incident In J&K
The Indian Army's Tiger Division Troops averted a major fire incident near Bari Brahmana in J&K's Samba district, on May 17. The fire could have easily disrupted the railway traffic on Jammu-Pathankot line, stated Indian Army. "Prompt action by the troops of Tiger Division assisted the civil administration in controlling any further spread of fire," read a statement by Indian Army. Further details on the matter is awaited.

Govt Approves Integrated Smart Power Fencing For 23 Air Bases After Pathankot Attack
The Central Government, on December 17, approved an Integrated Perimeter Security System (IPSS) to fortify the Indian Air Bases after the Pathankot incident. These IPSS will be established in 23 Air Bases, said Union Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt. In a written reply to Lok Sabha Bhatt said, in February 2021, a pilot site was commissioned and Bharat Electronics signed the contract with IAF for establishment.

Grenade Goes Off Near Pathankot Army Camp; No Injuries Reported
In Pathankot near Triveni Gate of an Army camp, a grenade went off in the early morning of November 22. Local police recovered parts of the grenade, reported ANI. Further investigation has been launched in connection with the blast based on the CCTV footage. No injuries have been reported so far. Notably, terrorists had earlier attacked the Indian Air Force's Pathankot Air Force base in 2016.

Punjab Police Arrested Three People Under Suresh Raina's Relatives Murder Case
The Punjab police arrested three people from Pathankot on September 16, under the case of robbery and the killing of cricketer Suresh Raina's family member. DGP Dinkar Gupta revealed that the accused were a part of an inter-state gang of criminals. Two wooden sticks, two gold rings and cash of worth Rs 1,530 has been recovered after the SIT raided the location of the accused.
