Ex-Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh Likely To Join BJP

Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) chief and former CM Amarinder Singh is likely to join BJP, in presence of senior leaders, on September 19. In the previous assembly polls, PLC in alliance with BJP, lost the election to AAP, and Bhagwant Mann became the CM. Notably, Singh after returning from London following a surgery for his spinal cord, met with PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Roof Of House Collapses In Punjab's Patiala; 4 Dead, 1 Injured

In Punjab's Patiala, the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rains, killing four persons and leaving one injured, on July 21. All five belonged to the same family. IMD has forecasted isolated heavy rainfall and thunderstorms over Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Reportedly, Patiala witnessed heavy rains along with storms, which caused several trees to fall and damage vehicles.

Sidhu Moose Wala Murder Case: SIT Cross Interrogates Bishnoi & Bhagwanpuria Face-To-Face

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, has brought gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and Jaggu Bhagwanpuria face-to-face for questioning, on July 12. The cross interrogation was reportedly carried out to connect the dots in the investigation. Furthermore, over 18 persons have been arrested so far, in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case.

SC Refuses To Entertain Plea Seeking Transfer Of Sidhu Moose Wala Murder Case To CBI

The apex court of India refused to entertain Jagjit Singh's plea seeking the transfer of Sidhu Moose Wala's murder case to CBI, on July 11. The bench stated that such cases should not be given a "political colour". Meanwhile, Lawrence Bishnoi's father has challenged the transit remand of his son to the Punjab police, which will be heard on July 18. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is the prime accused in the case.

Imprisoned for one year in the 1988 Road Rage Death Case, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu was taken to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala for a medical checkup. The medical examination on May 23 was in view of Sidhu's demand for a special diet, as he is not allowed to consume several food items. post-medical-examination, a board of doctors will decide diet for Sidhu, and his counsel will submit a report.

Navjot Singh Sidhu Taken To Rajindra Hospital For Medical Checkup In Patiala: Punjab

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu who has been sentenced with one-year of rigourous imprisonment, has been taken to Rajindra hospital in Patiala, for medical checkup, on May 22. Sidhu has been imprisoned for "voluntarily causing hurt" in a 1988 road rage case, by Supreme Court. In the aforementioned case, Sidhu was acquitted in connection with the culpable homicide charges, and was slapped with a fine of Rs 1000.

Navjot Singh Sidhu Skips First Day Dinner In Jail, Takes Medicines: Punjab

Navjot Singh Sidhu who surrendered before a Patiala court in a case of 1988 road rage, reportedly skipped his dinner on May 20. A jail authority stated that Sidhu said he "had food", however, he took his medicines. Furthermore, Sidhu will reportedly not receive any special meal in prison. He can however buy from jail canteen or cook. Furthermore, Sidhu will reportedly earn Rs 40 to 60 every day.
