Patna HC Issues Show-Cause Notice To CMO In Contempt Case
The Patna HC issued a show-cause notice to the chief minister's office (CMO) to explain why the revocation order of public prosecutor (PP) Motihari Jai Prakash's termination has not been complied, on March 5. The court reviewed a contempt petition filed against the State Government, which didn't honour the HC orders (December 21,) reinstating Mishra as PP-cum-chairman. Women Exploitation At Shelter Homes Is Govt's Failure, Says Patna HC
Patna High Court took a suo moto cognizance case against exploitation of women at state run shelter homes. After 2018, Muzaffarpur incident, this is the second such case reported in Patna, Bihar, raising questions on the State Government. Considering the matter as PIL, the HC criticised the Government, saying such news are failure of government and asked the concerned officials to file action before the next hearing, on February 7.
