In a relief to Congress leader Pawan Khera, the Supreme Court (SC) extended his protection from arrest in the remarks against PM Narendra Modi issue. On February 27, the Apex Court issued the orders, after the Assam and Uttar Pradesh Government sought time to file an affidavit in this regard. The court said Khera would be protected from arrest till its next hearing, likely to be on Friday.

In a relief to the Congress, the Supreme Court bench headed by CJI DY Chandrachud granted interim bail to party spokesperson Pawan Khera. Notably, on February 23, Khera was arrested at Delhi Airport, for making derogatory remarks against PM Narendra Modi. He was also be-boarded from an IndiGo flight, scheduled for Raipur-Chhatisgarh.

Notably, the petition was filed after Pawan Khera was arrested by Assam Police over a remark against PM Modi, at a public rally. Notably, the Delhi Airport drama unfolded, just a few days after the Modi remark.

Congress leader staged a protest after leader Pawan Khera was stopped from taking an IndiGo flight. On February 23, Khera has forced to de-board the flight due to a baggage issue. Addressing the media, Khera said, "They said the DCP will meet you. I have been waiting for a long time. There is no sign of law and order." The sit-in right next to the aircraft is underway.
Yashraj Mukhate's viral "Rasode mein kaun tha" video has taken place in political debates as well. While discussing on a Congress party president issue during a live debate on the national TV, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra mocked his counterpart, Congress spokesperson, Pawan Khera and called Rahul Gandhi "Rashi" from the video. Sonia Gandhi is currently the interim president for the party until the next AICC session.
