Google To Enable Alternative Payment Options Temporarily For Match Apps
Match Group Inc announced Google will temporarily enable the company to give consumers a variety of payment systems. Match filed a lawsuit against Google in May, calling it a "last resort" to keep Tinder and its other applications on the Google Play store. By June 1, Google said it will stop allowing people to download certain of Match's applications if they exclusively used Google's payment system and shared revenue.

Shipowners Alleges Indonesian Navy Asks Money To Release Ships
Over a dozen shipowners paid about $300,000 apiece to the Indonesian navy to get their ships released. Reportedly, the ships were illegally anchored near Singapore in Indonesian waters. As per the shipowners, payments were given in cash to naval officials or by bank transfer to intermediaries. Whatapp Unveils New Feature; Know More
Messaging giant Whatsapp has added a new feature that aids people to choose payment background while doing transactions. “With Payments Backgrounds, our effort is to bring excitement to everyday payments through WhatsApp and enable our users to express themselves if they wish,” said Mahesh Mahatme, Director of Whatsapp payment. The feature is similar to GooglePay where the user can avail backgrounds while doing money transactions.

Paytm Expands Rent Payments Service, Offers Cashback Up To Rs 10K
Paytm has extended its rent payment service to include shop rents, property deposits, token amount, brokerage and other services. Offering assured cashback up to Rs 10,000 on rent payments made through credit cards, Paytm said the service will enable users keep a track on their expenses. The rent payments can be made from the “Recharge & Pay Bills" section to the beneficiary via Paytm UPI, net banking and debit card.

BCCI Issues T20 World Cup Prize Money For Women's Cricket Team
The BCCI has released the prize money for all the 15 members of the women's cricket team for the T20 World Cup played in Australia in 2020 where they finished as a runner-up. BCCI also gave out the match fees for the home series against South Africa played in March 2021. Luring Creators YouTube Plans To Pay Users To Create 'Shorts'
Google has created $100 million funds for YouTube Shorts in order to pay users for making engaging content and will roll out this option for users in the US and India. YouTube will get in touch with creators with original content and wide-scale engagement. Although the payment amount is unknown, YouTube plans to keep it up till 2022.
