Kerala Former MP PC Chacko Joins Sharad Pawar's NCP Ahead Of Polls
Kerala's Ex-Congress leader PC Chacko on March 16 formally joined Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), as the state awaits poll on April 6. On decamping to NCP, Chacko stressed the need for unity among the oppositions. "A united opposition should emerge as an alternative to BJP", stated Chacko. The former Thrissur MP had resigned from Congress on March 10, over alleged groupism and factional selection of electoral candidates.

PC Chacko Quits Congress Ahead Of Kerala Polls; Cites Factionalism
Adding to the Congress party's concern ahead of the Kerala assembly elections, senior leader PC Chacko quit the party on March 10. Citing factionalism in Congress, Chacko said that the party lacks leadership and has become headless due to the unavailability of a President. Moreover, he affirmed Congress is losing its lustre and influence, and his resignation is a sign of protest against the party's drawbacks.
