India abstained from voting on a resolution put forward by Ukraine and its supporters in the United Nations General Assembly. On February 24, the resolution, titled ‘Principles of the Charter of the UN for lasting peace in Ukraine,' was adopted by a vote of 141 in favor and 7 against, with 32 abstentions. Meanwhile, speaking of India's stand, EAM S Jaishankar said, India just want peace for the world.
Jamia Millia Islamia has asked its students and teachers not to assemble in and around the campus as police have imposed restrictions under section 144 of the CrPC in the entire Okhla area. The United Nation's food assistance branch World Food Programme (WFP) has received the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2020.
