Govt Forms Committee To Facilitate Peace In Violence Hit Manipur
The Centre has constituted a committee in Manipur headed by the governor to facilitate the peace-making process among various ethnic groups and initiate dialogue between conflicting parties, said the Union Home Ministry. The members of the peace committee include the Chief Minister, a few ministers, MPs, MLAs, leaders from different political parties and civil society groups. PM Modi Unveiled Statue Of Mahatma Gandhi In Japan's Hiroshima
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Japan to attend the G7 Summit, unveiled a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Hiroshima today. Sharing a picture from the event on Twitter, PM Modi said that the bust of Mahatma Gandhi will take forward the idea of non-violence. "The Gandhian ideals of peace and harmony reverberate globally and give strength to millions," said PM Narendra Modi in a tweet in Japanese.

India Abstained From Voting In UN General Assembly Regarding Ukraine Peace Resolution
India abstained from voting on a resolution put forward by Ukraine and its supporters in the United Nations General Assembly. On February 24, the resolution, titled ‘Principles of the Charter of the UN for lasting peace in Ukraine,' was adopted by a vote of 141 in favor and 7 against, with 32 abstentions. Meanwhile, speaking of India's stand, EAM S Jaishankar said, India just want peace for the world.

Jamia Millia University Imposes Section 144 CrPC, Issues Notice
Jamia Millia Islamia has asked its students and teachers not to assemble in and around the campus as police have imposed restrictions under section 144 of the CrPC in the entire Okhla area. The notice was issued on September 26, after SHO of the Jamia Nagar police station informed about the restrictions amid information, that some people or groups may indulge in activities prejudicial to the maintenance of peace.

''Don’t Fight In The Name Of Religion & Caste,'' Requests Soldier In His Last Message
A Soldier made a heart-melting plea to the people of India before he was killed in an avalanche in Kashmir on February 23. ''Don’t fight in the name of religion and caste. UN's World Food Programme Awarded Nobel Peace Prize 2020
