Officials of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Assam police, in a joint operation, seized narcotic drugs worth Rs 15 crore, in Assam's Karbi Anglong district, on August 2. The officials acting on a tip off, arrested three persons at a checkpoint. The accused, who were transporting the drugs in a Bolero, reportedly possessed one of the purest forms of heroin and other drugs.
A team of Palwal police nabbed an Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) of police and five of his associates for peddling drugs, on March 2. The accused have been identified as Shoyeb (ASI), Asif, Mohammad, Aas Mohammad, Toufiq and Lakhpat. Reportedly, the group was escorting a truck which was delivering drugs to Mewat from Odisha. According to Pawal police, 1,370 Kg of marijuana and Rs 2 crore in cash were seized.
