32 Died, 20 Injured In Peru; Police Claims Reckless Driving

In a bizarre bus accident, 32 people died including two children, and as many as 20 were left injured after it fell off a cliff in Peru. However, the accident took place on August 31 carrying 63 people on board. According to survivors, the bus hit a rock and fell 650m off the road. Moreover, Police-commander Cesar Cervantes stated "recklessness" & "high speed" had a role in the tragedy.

Earthquake Of 6.1 Magnitude Strikes Peru; At Least 40 Injured

In a tragic accident, an earthquake of 6.1 magnitude struck Peru's Sullana on July 30, in which around 40 people sustained injuries and out of which 3 people were severely injured. Reportedly, the epicenter of the quake was found 8 km away from the city. Meanwhile, the quake caused damage to 187 homes and a 16th-century old cathedral. Newly appointed President Pedro Castillo also visited the injured.

Tailless Frog Marsupial's New Species Discovered In Peru's Amazon Forest

In a fresh ecological discovery, a species of Marsupial, a tailless frog, has been traced in a national sanctuary of Peru's Amazon jungle. The official announcement regarding the same was made by the Peruvian National Service of Protected Natural Areas on April 12. This Gastrotheca genus has ‘thick granular skin on the back, a green dorsal coloration without a pattern, turquoise iris and a belly without spots, specks or dots.
