SC Agrees To Review Plea Against Misuse Of Central Agencies
The Supreme Court agreed to list the petition filed by opposition parties, alleging arbitrary use of the Central agencies for probe and conspiracy against non-BJP parties. The Apex Court bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud adjourned the hearing for April 5. The plea was filed by 14 opposition parties, led by Congress. The parties are seeking pre- and post-arrest guidelines to be followed by agencies like CBI, ED.

Daughters Doesn't Lose Right On Property Even If Given Dowry, Court
A Goa bench of Bombay Court reviewed a peition and gave a historic judgement, saying a daughter has rights on their ancestral property. The court said, even if a daughter is given dowry, she doesn't lose rights on the family property.The court declared that the Plaintiff has an undivided right in the same and permanent injunction restraining the Defendants from transferring or conveying the said property, in the peitition.

SC Refers Same Sex Marriage To 5 Bench
Supreme Court reviewed the sam sex marriage issue, and referred all the pleas on same-sex marriage to a five-judge Constitution Bench. The case will be heard on April 18, confirmed sources. On March 13, a bunch of applications had been filed before Supreme Court which sought legal sanction for same-sex marriages. This is a developing story, more details are awaited.

SC Refuses To Stay Order On ECI Decision Against Uddhav Thackeray Plea
The Supreme Court (SC,) reviewed a petition filed by the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena faction, against the ECI decision. However, in a major setback to the Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena faction, the Top Court, refused to put stay on the ECI decision of giving the 'bow & arrow' symbol to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction. In the hearing, the SC bench allowed the SS name with flaming torch.

SC Agrees To Hear Petition Filed Against CBI Probe In BRS MLA Poaching
The Supreme Court (SC) agreed to hear the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Poaching Case against the CBI probe. After the Telangana High Court dismissed the petition filed by the State government led by K Chandrashekar Rao, the BRS moved the Apex Court, demanding the quashing of the Telangana HC orders and asked for an urgent listing. After reviewing the petition, the SC bench listed the matter to February 17.

Victoria Gowri Sworn In As Madras HC Judge Amid Petition In SC
Advocate Lekshmana Chandra Victoria Gowri was sworn in as the Madras High Court judge, amid a petition filed against her, on February 7. While she was taking the oath as the HC judge, the Supreme Court, reviewed the petitions and dismissed it saying, "On eligibility, there could be a challenge. But suitability... SC Issues Notice To Govt Regarding Fraudulent Religious Coversion
Supreme Court has issued notice to Central Government regarding fraudulent religious conversion. On September 23, the Apex Court bench of justices MR Shah and Krishna Murari issued orders, asking the GoI to take the necessary steps and control the religious conversion fraud, after reviewing a plea seeking direction to the Centre and State governments.
