Odisha Govt Brings Down Bus Fares After Reduce In Diesel Price

After diesel prices were reduced in Odisha from Rs 102.22 to Rs 94.74 per litre on May 26, the state government has cut the bus fares, reducing the burden of daily commuters. The reduced rates apply to the stage carriages and not the town buses plying within the state of Odisha. For regular, delux and premium buses, the fare is reduced by three paise, six paise and nine paise, respectively.

Petrol & Diesel Prices Remain Unchanged For 49 Consecutive Days; Check Rates Here

Petrol and diesel prices in India remain unchanged for the 49th day in a row, on December 23. After the prices hit a record-breaking high in early November, the government reduced the excise duties. Petrol prices today- Delhi (Rs 95.41), Mumbai (Rs 109.98), Kolkata (Rs 104.67) and Chennai (Rs 101.40). Diesel prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai stand at Rs 86.67, Rs 89.79, Rs 94.14 and Rs 91.43 respectively.

Vegetables Cost More Due To Hike In Fuel Prices: Traders In Delhi

In the National Capital of India, Delhi, the cost of vegetables and fruits have gone up as of October 25, due to the surging fuel prices which is simultaneously increasing the transportation cost. "Petrol and Diesel prices have increased transportation as well as toll costs", a trader from the Ghazipur Mandi said. "There is reduced supply in the market," he further added.

Diesel Prices Rise By 20 Paise; No Concession On Tax Rates Will Be Allowed, Says Govt

Diesel rates were first hiked by 20-22 paise on September 24 after July 15. Surging global crude oil rates is deemed to be the reason for a cause in the increase in Diesel prices. Meanwhile, petrol prices remain constant for the 19 days straight. Despite the surge in the prices, the Centre stated that no concession on tax rates for fuel should be expected in the near future.

Fuel Price In Bangalore To Remain Intact: Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai

According to the Karnataka CM, Basavaraj Bommai, the fuel price in the state would remain intact irrespective of the policy done by Tamil Nadu. When asked about whether the price of the fuel will be reduced or not, Bommai responded, “There’s no proposal like that.” Tamil Nadu’s DMK government has lowered the fuel price by Rs 3 by reducing the tax levy. Currently, petrol in Bangalore costs Rs 105.25.

Petrol, Diesel Prices Remain Stable In India Amid Rising Covid Cases

While Petrol and diesel prices decline in international markets due to the rise in Covid-19 cases, they remain unchanged in India. According to sources, crude oil prices have been hovering around $70-75 a barrel in July as industrial recovery is taking a simultaneous hit. In India, petrol prices cost Rs 101.84 in Delhi, while diesel is priced at Rs 89.87 per liter, both remain unchanged.

RBI Suggests Centre, States To Cut Petrol, Diesel Taxes To Ease Inflation

In order to ease the inflation, the RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee on June 4 suggested the Centre and states to reduce taxes and duties on fuel. The RBI’s remark came as petrol prices crossed Rs 100/litre in some states. Reportedly, taxes constitute 58% and 52% of petrol and diesel price. Highlighting the need for adjustment in excise duties, cess and taxes by governments, the MPC predicted inflation rate at 5.1%.
