Schools For Classes 1-9 To Remain Closed In Puducherry Amid Rising COVID Cases

In view of the rising COVID-19 cases, the Puducherry government on January 9, ordered to close all the physical classes for students of classes 1 to 9 in the union territory. Online classes will be the mode of study now. Earlier this week, the government allowed market and malls to operate with 50% capacity. It also ordered to operate salons, gyms, cinemas, and auditoriums with 50% seating till January 31.

Gujarat Govt To Open Physical Classes 1 To 8 On Nov 22

Gujarat government is set to reopen physical classes for students of classes 1 to 5 in the state from November 22, said Jitu Vaghani, the Education Minister. Parents will have the authority to decide whether to send their children to school, reported ANI. Reportedly, schools cannot force students to attend offline classes. However, offline classes for students of classes 6 to 8 are already open since September 2.

Schools For Students Of Classes 9-12 Opened In West Bengal

Schools for West Bengal students of classes 9 to 12 were opened on November 16 after the closure of 20 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, classes for students of junior and middle schools will continue in the online mode till further orders, said Bratya Basu, the state's education minister. Students have been advised to wear masks during school hours and not to share their tiffin.

Schools Reopen In Odisha After 18 Months

Schools reopened in Odisha for 8th grade students after an 18-month gap on October 25. Reportedly, students were thrilled with the reopening of physical classes as they would now be able to interact better without any internet issues. A student said, "I am very excited to sit in the classroom after a gap of a year. I have met with my old friends and also made new friends today."

Physical Classes Are Way Better Than Online: Delhi Students

Schools in Delhi have been reopened for students of classes 9 to 12 on September 1 following the permission of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). However, online classes will continue for those students who're at home due to the menace of COVID-19. Moreover, the students were cheerful and said, ''Physical classes are way better than online classes." However, several parents have also supported the decision of opening schools.

Haryana Govt Allows Schools To Re-open For Senior School Students

The state government of Haryana has announced that the classes for the students of class X & XII, and class IX & XI will re-open from December 14 and 21 respectively. The duration for the classes has been reduced to three hours a day starting from 10 AM till 1PM, due to the ongoing pandemic. However, the students will have to mandatory produce a negative Covid-19 report issued within 72 hours.
