African Swine Fever With 100% Mortality Reported In Punjab’s Mansa
In Punjab’s Mansa district, African Swine Fever (ASF) virus has been detected in some samples from Talwandi Aklia village. With this, the area has been declared as an “infected zone”, and steps are being taken to contain the spread. Besides, 1-10 km area has been declared as “surveillance zone”. The virus reportedly affects domestic and wild pigs, and has a 100% mortality rate.

African Swine Fever: 259 Pigs Die In Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi District
African Swine Fever (ASF) has claimed the lives of at least 259 pigs in Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district this year, stated a senior official of the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry department, on May 9. Around 45 pigs died in a single day, on May 8. After the first outbreak was reported on April 13, pug slaughter and movement were banned within 10 kms of its vicinity.
