Uttarakhand Govt Bans Vehicular Movement On Mountain Routes Amid Char-Dham Yatra

The Char Dham Yatra opens on May 3, with the opening on Gangotri-Yamnotri in Uttarakhand. In regard to this Uttarakhand Transport Commissioner Minister Ranveer Sing Chouhan announced that Pushkar Singh Dhami-led Government banned vehicular movements on mountain routes from 10 am to 4 pm during Char Dham Yatra. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open on May 6 and the doors of Badrinath Dham will open by May 8.

Amarnath Pilgrimage Registration Begins From April 11, Yatra In June

The Amarnath Yatra, which is scheduled from June 30, started its registration. Devotees can register themselves at 316 branches of Punjab National Bank across India.  Registration this year is for Rs 120 per person. However, those who registered last year, need to pay Rs 20 extra. In addition, people below 13-year-old and above 75-year-old are not eligible for the Amarnath Yatra, which will commence on August 11.

Amarnath Pilgrimage To Begin From June 30, Says Shrine Board

Amarnath pilgrimage for 2022 is set to begin from June 30, confirmed a government official. As per PTI, the decision to schedule the 43-day pilgrimage was taken during a meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board chaired by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. Delhi Govt Starts Offering Free Train Service To Ayodhya Pilgrims

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal announced that his government has added Ayodhya to the list of free pilgrimage scheme called 'Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana' on November 24. The first train under the scheme will leave from Delhi on December 3. ''We'll also add Tamil Nadu's Velankanni Church to our list soon,'' added CM Kejriwal. The online registration for the same has been opened on the Delhi government's e-district portal.

Saudi Arabia Restricts Hajj Visit To 600,000 Pilgrims Due To COVID

Amid the COVID pandemic, Saudi Arabian authorities has limited the number of Hajj pilgrims within the country to 600,000. The decision came on June 12, after an announcement was made over a state-run Saudi Press Agency. However, only 1000 people from the country were permitted to take part in Hajj last year. Besides, two-thirds were foreigners and one-third were Saudi security & medical staffs.

With Manadatory Guidelines, Hemkund Sahib Yatra Reopens for the Pilgrims

Uttarakhand's Hemkund Sahib has been reopened for the pilgrims, with some mandatory do's and don'ts for the visitors. Foremost, only asymptomatic people will be allowed to enter. Besides, people above 60 years, kids below 10 years and pregnant women will not be allowed. Pilgrims from other states will have to undergo 'Antigen COVID-19 test', and can proceed only if they test negative. The face mask will be compulsory for everyone.
