The Char Dham Yatra opens on May 3, with the opening on Gangotri-Yamnotri in Uttarakhand. In regard to this Uttarakhand Transport Commissioner Minister Ranveer Sing Chouhan announced that Pushkar Singh Dhami-led Government banned vehicular movements on mountain routes from 10 am to 4 pm during Char Dham Yatra. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will open on May 6 and the doors of Badrinath Dham will open by May 8.    

Amarnath pilgrimage for 2022 is set to begin from June 30, confirmed a government official. As per PTI, the decision to schedule the 43-day pilgrimage was taken during a meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board chaired by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. IRCTC has launched a 16-day pilgrimage tour package of ''Chardham Yatra'' by 'Dekho Apna Desh' Deluxe AC Tourist Train. Uttarakhand's Hemkund Sahib has been reopened for the pilgrims, with some mandatory do's and don'ts for the visitors. Foremost, only asymptomatic people will be allowed to enter. Besides, people above 60 years, kids below 10 years and pregnant women will not be allowed. Pilgrims from other states will have to undergo 'Antigen COVID-19 test', and can proceed only if they test negative. The face mask will be compulsory for everyone.
