Driver Lost Control, Kills 10 & Leaves 7 Injured In Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit

In Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit, a major accident has been reported, which killed 10n people and left seven injured, confirmed police on June 23. As per sources, a van was travelling with 17 pilgrims from Haridwar, when it rammed into a tree, after the driver lost control, in the Gajraula area. Furthermore, the deceased's identities are yet to be identified, whereas the injured are being treated at a nearby hospital.

91 Pilgrims Died During Char Dham Yatra, Most Of Them Suffered Heart Attack

Uttarakhand Health DG Dr. Shailja Bhatt informed that approximately 91 pilgrims lost lives during the 2022 Char Dham Yatra. On May 27, Bhatt said, "Most of the pilgrims died due to heart-attacks". Furthermore, highlighting the strengthened medical services compared to earlier, Shailja Bhatt said, for the Char Dham yatra in Uttarakhand, nearly 169 doctors were deployed to treat patients in the course of the yatra, which started on May 3.

Pilgrims Thank Indian Govt For Reopening Kartarpur Corridor

The 4.7-kilometer-long Kartarpur corridor was reopened for pilgrims on November 17. It was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic for a long time. ''It's a welcome step. People have been eagerly waiting to offer prayers at Gurudwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan,'' said Gurvinder Singh, a Pilgrim. Reportedly, the corridor provides a visa-free facility to the shrine. It was opened in 2019 for the first time for pilgrims.

Online Application Process For Pilgrims Of Haj 2022 Begins

Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi announced that the online application process for Haj 2022 has been begun on November 1 in Mumbai. The entire Haj process for pilgrims will be digital and the last date of application is January 31, 2022. Naqvi also said the pilgrims can also buy bed sheets, pillows, towels, umbrellas, and other items in India. The items will be provided at the embarkation points.
