Remdesivir Likely To Get Dropped From COVID Treatment Over Inefficacy

Popular antiviral drug Remdesivir is being considered to be dropped from COVID-19 treatment due to lack of evidence in effectiveness, informed Ganga Ram Hospital Chairman DS Rana. He said, "There is no such evidence regarding Remdesivir that works in COVID-19 treatment. Medicines that do not... work, will have to be discontinued". Recently, plasma therapy has been dropped from the treatment due to the same reason.

ICMR Drops Plasma Therapy From COVID Cure List; Calls It Ineffective

ICMR Study Suggests Plasma Therapy Does Not Prevent COVID-19

According to a study by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), plasma therapy is not effective in reducing the mortality rate nor does it prevent COVID-19 from advancing to the next stage.
