Ban On Single-Use Plastic Items To Come Into Effect From July 1; Plastic Wrappers, Cutlery, Straw Prohibited
Manufacturing, stocking, import, distribution or sale of single-use plastic items including wrappers, plastic cutlery, straws, etc will be prohibited from July 1. The notification of ban was issued in August, 2021, giving one year time for manufacturers and other associates to prepare for alternatives. The time has come for vendors to switch to use of non-plastic items. Also, biodegradable and compostable plastics are allowed.

Punjab Government Announces Ban On Single-Use Plastic Beginning From July
Punjab government stated on June 5 single-use plastic will be banned beginning in July. The declaration was made by Secretary of State for Science, Technology, and Environment Rahul Tewari at a virtual state-level gathering to commemorate World Environment Day. TTD Imposes Complete Ban On Plastic Products In Tirumala
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) announced a total ban on plastic bottles, bags, covers, and other nondegradable items, from June 1. The decision to ban plastic products was in order to protect the environment, for which the board issued an order which include, the separation of wet-dry garbage, mass cleaning from 1-3 pm, every Tuesday, for shop-owners and hotels. Furthermore, AP Government also decided to impose a plastic ban.
