Delhi: Plastic Factory Catches Fire, 0 Casualties So Far

In less than 24 hours, Delhi reported another massive fire breakout in a factory. On October 13, a fire broke out in a plastic factory near Udyog Nagar metro station. Approximately 26 fire tenders have been rushed to the site. As of now no casualties have been reported and the officials are working to douse the fire, confirmed the Delhi Fire Services. Moreover, cause of the fire is unknown.

Single-Use Plastics Will Be Banned From July Next Year: Environment Ministry

The Indian government through its notification to the Plastic Waste Management Amendment rules, 2021 has ordered the ban on single-use plastic from July 2022. "The manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale and use of single-use plastic, including polystyrene and expanded polystyrene commodities shall be prohibited from 1st July 2022," the Environment Ministry said. 5 Killed, Several Injured In Blast At Bengal's Plastic Factory

In a horrific blast at a plastic factory in West Bengal's Malda on November 19, five people lost their lives and several others got injured. A police official cited a technical fault as the reason based on initial reports. However, the official stated that further probe is underway. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has declared financial relief of Rs 2 lakh and Rs 50,000 for the families of deceased and injured respectively.
